Vietnam’s first large-scale onsen destination resort at Quang Hanh’s Yoko Park – and three hotels in Ba Na Hills – will open in 2026
IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hospitality companies, is proud to announce a four-hotel, 2,709-room portfolio deal in Vietnam with long-standing partner Sun Hospitality Group (a member of Sun Group), the renowned tourism-focused real estate developer.

Following the success of the award-winning InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, the companies will extend their partnership across two world-class, integrated development projects that will open in 2026.

The multi-property agreement includes the 616-room Holiday Inn Resort Yoko Park Onsen in Quang Ninh Province – the first large-scale hot spring resort in Vietnam, expanding on the existing Yoko Onsen Quang Hanh Resort.

Three hotels highlighting the breadth of IHG’s brand portfolio will also be built as part of the ongoing development of Ba Na Hills in the mountains of Danang: the 602-room Crowne Plaza Danang Ba Na Hills, 843-room Holiday Inn Resort Danang Ba Na Hills and 648-room voco Danang Ba Na Hills.

This agreement will make IHG one of the largest international hotel operators in Quang Ninh province, with three properties across its Holiday Inn and InterContinental brands, and establish its footprint as a market leader in Danang with seven hotels.

Serena Lim, Vice President, Development, South East Asia and Korea, IHG said: “We’ve always had a fantastic relationship with Sun Group and are delighted to extend it by working with them on these two fantastic destination resort projects. Creating new tourism concepts and assets such as these really showcases the pioneering spirit that is such a great part of our culture and ethos at IHG.

“This marquee portfolio deal is aligned with our plan to grow our estate in Vietnam across all brands. As we work through the recovery, we know that domestic leisure business will be a strong driver of growth in the country. We’re looking to develop a range of destination resort and family-friendly destinations across Vietnam.

“We are extremely proud of being a part of Ba Na Hills – one of the top theme park attractions in the cooling highlands of Danang, and are already looking forward to further opportunities to collaborate with Sun Group and introduce more of our much-loved brands in new and exciting locations in the country.”

Nguyen Vu Quynh Anh, Chief Executive Officer, Sun Hospitality Group, said: “We are strengthening our strategic partnership with IHG who share our vision of promoting the beauty of Vietnam to the world through sustainable and world-class tourism destination concepts. This is part of our masterplan to build ecosystems that spur tourism and commercial development for the country.

“Our flagship InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is world-renowned and IHG has proven to be a great partner, being both nimble and flexible in their approach and delivering a consistently strong performance for the hotel as we move into recovery together.

“Quang Ninh Province is already famous for Halong Bay, and it will now offer a new wellness experience with Holiday Inn Resort Yoko Park Onsen. As the first large-scale hot spring resort in Vietnam, it will appeal to guests seeking drive-to and natural destinations to visit and explore.

“Following the success of the Ba Na Hills entertainment complex, we will introduce phase two of our expansion plan where all three new hotels will be managed by IHG. IHG’s three brands complement the myriad of activities that we will be adding as part of this expansion – from an amphitheatre, unique gardens and retail podium for visitors. We’re confident that IHG’s global wealth of experience and differentiated brand portfolio will enable us to maintain our accolade as the top tourist resort and theme park attraction in Vietnam.”

Vietnam continues to be a strong growth market for IHG, with 14 hotels across four brands, Six Senses, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn, and 15 properties in its pipeline. Alongside recently opened Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay, IHG will debut new brands with Regent Phu Quoc and voco Ma Belle Danang as part of the company’s aim to grow its estate across all brands in the country.

About Yoko Park

Located in Quang Hanh, Cam Pha, Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam, Holiday Inn Resort Yoko Park Onsen will be built against a stunning natural landscape of limestone mountains and natural hot springs.

With Sun Group’s major infrastructure push to develop Quang Ninh province, the company has built a connecting highway infrastructure and privately developed Van Don International Airport on a private/public partnership basis to support tourism development.

Opening in 2026, the 616-room hotel is a 30-minute drive to Halong City, 45 minutes to Van Don International Airport and a two-and-a-half-hour drive from downtown Hanoi.

Facilities include four restaurants and bars including a mountaintop destination dining experience, four meeting rooms measuring 800m2, an outdoor rooftop swimming pool, spa with indoor and outdoor onsen, gym, kids club and a sports and activity centre.

As part of the destination resort, guests will have access to themed baths, mini water park, retail village, wellness centre and dining experiences as well as outdoor experiences such as mountain hiking.

About Ba Na Hills Entertainment Complex (Phase Two)

Phase Two of Vietnam’s leading highlands entertainment complex expansion will be completed in 2026. It will include three IHG-managed hotels totalling 2,093 rooms across its Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Resort and voco brands, an events amphitheatre for 2,500 people, enhanced dining options and three new cable car lines.

Located in the mountains of Danang, about 1,500 metres above sea level, Ba Na Hills Entertainment Complex is popularly known as the “French village in the clouds”. With the world’s longest non-stop cable car ride, the destination resort is a 40-minute drive to Danang and 30 minutes from Danang International Airport.

Facilities across the three hotels will include restaurants and bars, a large meetings and events facility with more than 2,000 square metres of space, a unique mountain-top wedding pavilion, indoor and outdoor pools, kids clubs, gyms and a spa. The hotels will also be fully integrated into phase two attractions including landscaped gardens, retail, dining and an amphitheatre.

Ba Na Hills Entertainment Complex currently welcomes five million annual visitors, a figure it expects to double to 10 million within five years following phase two of its expansion.
