Up To 4X points

These “General Promotion Terms” shall govern all Offers under this Promotion.

You must be an IHG® One Rewards member and must register to participate in the “Earn up to 4X” promotion (“Promotion”). Members can preregister for this Promotion starting 4 May 2022 to 17 May 2022. Members will be able to stay and earn IHG® One Rewards bonus points under this Promotion beginning 18 May 2022 and ending on 31 August 2022 (“Promotion Period”). Members who did not register during the period for preregistration may register for the Promotion during the Promotion Period. By clicking on the “click to register” button for the Promotion, a member is registering for the Earn up to 4X Promotion and accepting these Terms and Conditions.

After registering for the Promotion, a member can earn IHG® One Rewards bonus points based on the number of qualifying nights they have during the Promotion Period, as follows: “2X points” on their 2nd to 5th qualifying nights; “3X points” on their 6th to 14th qualifying nights; and “4X points” on their 15th qualifying night and all subsequent qualifying nights. The bonus points earning structure for “2X points”, “3X points” and “4X points” is described in more detail below and is subject to a total promotional bonus points cap of 100,000 points. The time needed for awarding points can vary with each promotion, so please allow up to 6 weeks for any earned bonus points to be posted to your account.

For the purposes of this Promotion, the qualifying nights must be part of one or more Qualifying Stays at participating IHG® Hotels & Resorts; Mr and Mrs Smith properties; or Six Senses® Hotels, Resorts & Spas (as identified on each hotel’s booking page). Each qualifying night must be completed during the Promotion Period, which is from 18 May 2022 to 31 August 2022. No retroactive credit will be given for nights prior to registration for the Promotion and any nights outside of the Promotion Period will not be eligible for bonus points under the Promotion. A Qualifying Stay is a minimum 1-night stay booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding US $30 (or local currency equivalent) for each night. Only one room per member per Qualifying Stay will be eligible for the applicable bonus points under the Promotion. If more than one member checks into the same room, only one member is eligible for the bonus points available under the Promotion. If a member books more than one room on the same night, they will only earn bonus points for the Promotion on the room with the higher room rate for each qualifying night. For this Promotion, earning “2X”, “2X points” or “Double Points” on a member’s 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th qualifying nights during the Promotion Period means the total number of regular “base points” and promotional “bonus points” combined will equal two (2) times the base points the member would normally earn just for being an IHG® One Rewards member. For example, under this Promotion, for a member’s second qualifying night during the Promotion Period with a room rate of $100.00 at an IHG hotel with a base-point earning rate of 10 points per one USD, the member would earn 1,000 base points (10 points x $100 = 1,000 points) and an additional 1,000 promotional bonus points, for a total of 2,000 points.

Similarly, earning “3X”, “3X points” or “Triple Points” on a member’s 6th to 14th qualifying nights during the Promotion Period means the total number of regular “base points” and promotional “bonus points” combined will equal three (3) times the base points the member would normally earn just for being an IHG® One Rewards member. For example, a qualifying night after a member has already stayed five (5) previous qualifying nights within the Promotion Period would be considered the 6th qualifying night. If that 6th qualifying night has a room rate of $100.00 at an IHG hotel with a base-point earning rate of 10 points per one USD, the member would earn 1,000 base points (10 points x $100 = 1,000 points) and an additional 2,000 promotional bonus points, for a total of 3,000 points for the 6th qualifying night. These points would be in addition to the base points and bonus points the member had previously earned under the Promotion for their 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th qualifying nights.

Earning “4X”, “4X points” or “Quadruple Points” on a member’s 15th qualifying night and all subsequent qualifying nights during the Promotion Period follows the same pattern: the total number of regular “base points” and promotional “bonus points” combined will equal four (4) times the number of base points the member would normally earn just for being an IHG® One Rewards member. By way of example, for a member’s 2-night Qualifying Stay for their 15th and 16th qualifying nights within the Promotion Period, with a per-night room rate of $100.00 at an IHG hotel with a base-point earning rate of 10 points per one USD, the member would earn 2,000 base points (10 points x $100/night x 2 nights = 2,000 points) and an additional 6,000 promotional bonus points, for a total of 8,000 points. These 8,000 points are for the 15th and 16th qualifying nights and are in addition to the base points and bonus points the member had already earned during the Promotion Period for qualifying nights 2 to 14.

The promotional bonus points that can be earned under the 2X, 3X and 4X promotion part of the Promotion, as described above, are calculated based solely on the base points the member is eligible to earn for the qualifying night just for being an IHG® One Rewards member, and any Elite status bonus points or any other bonus or promotional points the member may be eligible to earn for the same stay are not included.

The points earned during the Earn up to 4X Promotion can be used towards Reward Nights, can be redeemed for merchandise or can be used for other redemption opportunities, as permitted under the IHG® One Rewards programme. The Promotion is subject to the IHG® One Rewards programme terms and conditions and earning structure, which can be found at IHG® One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions or by visiting www.ihgrewards.com. Members can only participate in one promotion at a time, unless otherwise specifically allowed by IHG. IHG expressly reserves the right to remove a member’s points or cancel a member’s account if fraudulent use of the Promotion is detected. Any fraudulent activity relating to a member’s account or this Promotion is also subject to the IHG® One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions, including any of the identified actions that may be taken in response to such activity. To the extent permitted by applicable law, IHG reserves the right of final interpretation of the Promotion, as well as the right to cancel, terminate, suspend and/or modify the Promotion at any time. Members must make any promotional inquiries 60 days from the end of the Promotion Period; the end of the Promotion Period is 31 August 2022.

What is the Earn up to 4X Promotion?

IHG® One Rewards members who register for the Earn up to 4X Promotion can earn IHG® One Rewards bonus points based on the number of qualifying nights they have during the Promotion Period, as follows: “2X points” on their 2nd to 5th qualifying nights; “3X points” on their 6th to 14th qualifying nights; and “4X points” on their 15th qualifying night and all subsequent qualifying nights. How do I know if I am eligible for the Earn up to 4X Promotion?

This promotion is available to all IHG® One Rewards members.


When does the Earn up to 4X Promotion begin and end?

The Preregistration Period for IHG® One Rewards members begins on 4 May 2022 and ends on 17 May 2022. Members can preregister for this promotion during this Preregistration Period.

Members can earn points on qualifying nights at IHG® Hotels & Resorts globally during the Promotion Period, which is from 18 May 2022 to 31 August 2022. The Promotion Period is when members can stay and earn promotional bonus points under this Promotion. Members who did not preregister can also register during the Promotion Period. Stays prior to registration for the Earn up to 4X Promotion will not be eligible for bonus points under the Promotion.


If I registered for the 2X Unlimited Promotion, which ran from 19 January–31 March 2022, do I still need to register for the Earn up to 4X Promotion?

Yes, these are separate promotions and require separate registration for members to be eligible to earn bonus points.

How can members earn bonus points with this Promotion?

After registering for the Promotion, a member can earn IHG® One Rewards bonus points based on the number of qualifying nights they have during the Promotion Period:

“2X points” on their 2nd to 5th qualifying nights;

“3X points” on their 6th to 14th qualifying nights; and

“4X points” on their 15th qualifying night and all subsequent qualifying nights.

For this Promotion, the qualifying nights must be part of one or more Qualifying Stays at participating IHG® Hotels & Resorts; Mr and Mrs Smith properties; or Six Senses® Hotels, Resorts & Spas (as identified on each hotel’s booking page). A Qualifying Stay is a minimum one-(1)-night stay booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding US $30 (or local currency equivalent) for each night.

Only one room per member per Qualifying Stay will be eligible for the applicable bonus points under the Earn up to 4X Promotion. If more than one member checks into the same room, only one member is eligible for the bonus points available under the Promotion. If a member books more than one room on the same night, they will only earn bonus points for the Promotion on the room with the higher room rate for each qualifying night. What is considered a Qualifying Rate?

Qualifying Rates include most business and leisure rates, such as Advanced Purchase rates, Best Flexible rates, Global Sales Negotiated rates (including but not limited to Corporate Gold rates), national/regional/local government rates and specified leisure rates as confirmed by IHG’s reservation systems. In hotels and resorts that are in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Greater China, Qualifying Rates include all locally negotiated rates. How many points can I expect to earn when participating in the Earn up to 4X Promotion?

For this Promotion, earning “2X”, “2X points” or “Double Points” on a member’s 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th qualifying nights during the Promotion Period means the total number of regular “base points” and promotional “bonus points” combined will equal two (2) times the base points the member would normally earn just for being an IHG® One Rewards member. For example, for a member’s 2nd qualifying night during the Promotion Period with a room rate of $100.00 at an IHG hotel with a base-point earning rate of 10 points per one USD, the member would earn 1,000 base points (10 points x $100 = 1,000 points) and an additional 1,000 promotional bonus points, for a total of 2,000 points.

For the Promotion, earning “3X”, “3X points” or “Triple Points” on a member’s 6th to 14th qualifying nights during the Promotion Period means the total number of regular “base points” and promotional “bonus points” combined will equal three (3) times the base points the member would normally earn just for being an IHG® One Rewards member. For example, a qualifying night after a member has already stayed five (5) previous qualifying nights within the Promotion Period would be considered the 6th qualifying night. By way of example, for a member’s 2-night Qualifying Stay for their 15th and 16th qualifying nights within the Promotion Period, with a per-night room rate of $100.00 at an IHG hotel with a base-point earning rate of 10 points per one USD, the member would earn 2,000 base points (10 points x $100/night x 2 nights = 2,000 points) and an additional 6,000 promotional bonus points, for a total of 8,000 points. These 8,000 points are for the 15th and 16th qualifying nights and are in addition to the base points and bonus points the member had already earned during the Promotion Period for qualifying nights 2 to 14.

For the 2X/3X/4X part of the Earn up to 4X Promotion, members can earn a maximum of 100,000 points during the Promotion Period.


How are bonus points calculated under the Earn up to 4X Promotion for Elite members?

The promotional bonus points that can be earned under the 2X/3X/4X part of the Promotion are described in more detail in the FAQ above and are calculated based solely on the base points the member is eligible to earn for the qualifying night just for being an IHG® One Rewards member; any Elite status bonus points or any other bonus or promotional points the member may be eligible to earn for the same stay are not included in that calculation. Additional examples of how points are awarded under the Promotion for members with Elite status are provided below.

Example one: a Spire Elite member completes their 2nd and 3rd qualifying nights at an IHG® Hotels & Resorts property. The member spends $100 on each night. The member will earn a total of 6,000 IHG® One Rewards points, as follows:

Base points earned (points you earn during your stay for being an IHG® One Rewards member): 10 points per one USD x $100 x 2 nights = 2,000 base points.

Elite bonus points earned (bonus points you earn during your stay for being a Spire Elite status member): 10 bonus points per one USD x $100 x 2 nights = 2,000 Elite bonus points.

Promotional bonus points earned (bonus points you earn during your stay for participating in this Promotion): the 2nd and 3rd qualifying nights result in “2X points” under the Promotion, which means the total number of regular “base points” and “promotional bonus points” combined will equal two (2) times the base points. As noted above, base points earned = 2,000 base points. Accordingly, for the Promotion, the combined total of base points and promotional bonus points will be 4,000 points (i.e., 2,000 base points + 2,000 promotional bonus points = 4,000 total combined points). This means the promotional bonus points earned equal 2,000 bonus points.

The total points earned by the member in this example is 2,000 base points + 2,000 Elite bonus points + 2,000 promotional bonus points = 6,000 total points.

Example two: a Spire Elite member completes their 10th and 11th qualifying nights at an IHG® Hotels & Resorts property. The member spends $100 per night. The member will earn a total of 8,000 IHG® One Rewards points.

Base points earned (points you earn during your stay for being an IHG® One Rewards member): 10 points per one USD x $100 x 2 nights = 2,000 base points.

Elite status bonus points earned (points you earn during your stay for being a Spire Elite member): 10 bonus points per one USD x
$100 x 2 nights = 2,000 Elite bonus points.

Promotional bonus points earned (bonus points you earn during your stay for participating in this Promotion): the 10th and 11th qualifying nights result in “3X points” under the Promotion, which means the total number of regular “base points” and “promotional bonus points” combined will equal three (3) times the base points. As noted above, base points earned = 2,000 base points. Accordingly, for the Promotion, the combined total of base points and promotional bonus points will be 6,000 points (i.e., 2,000 base points + 4,000 promotional bonus points = 6,000 total combined points). This means the promotional bonus points earned equal 4,000 bonus points.The total points earned by the member in this example is 2,000 base points + 2,000 Elite bonus points + 4,000 promotional bonus points = 8,000 total points.Example three: a Spire Elite member completes their 15th and 16th qualifying nights at an IHG® Hotels & Resorts property. The total points earned by the member in this example is 2,000 base points + 2,000 Elite bonus points + 6,000 promotional bonus points = 10,000 total points.


Is there a maximum number of bonus points a member can earn during the Promotion Period?

100,000 bonus points is the maximum number that can be earned under the 2X/3X/4X part of the Promotion.
