เพิ่งจะครบรอบ 35 ปี เมื่อไม่นานนี้เองครับ

ตึกโรงแรม เป็นจุดเด่นของเมือง Yokohama เลยนะครับ ออกแบบให้มีรูปร่างเหมือน เรือใบ (Yacht sail) ที่กำลังกางใบแล่นอยู่ริมอ่าว

ทำเลไม่ได้อยู่ติดสถานี Yokohama แต่ก็เดินทางสะดวก นั่ง Taxi ประมาณ 2,000 เยนนะครับ
อยู่ห่างสถานีรถไฟใต้ดิน Minatomirai Station เพียง 500 เมตร นะครับ เดินประมาณ 10 นาที

โดนเดินมาจากตึก Queens Tower ได้เลยนะ ข้ามสะพาน ซึ่งตรงนี้ ร้านอาหาร ซุปเปอร์มาเก็ต ร้านค้าเยอะมากๆๆ

Today, I’m going to introduce an all-in-one IHG hotel in the Kanto region, following up on last year’s Kansai region recommendation.

It’s a great value, versatile hotel for all peak seasons—whether it’s cherry blossom season or the autumn foliage peak, when Tokyo hotel prices skyrocket to the point where paying cash or redeeming points becomes unreasonably expensive.

That hotel is the InterContinental Yokohama Grand. Located slightly outside Tokyo, it offers convenient travel into the city center while remaining close to Haneda Airport.

In this full review, I’ve included the bus schedules, booking links, and key details. It’s a complete guide you can easily follow for your trip.

The InterContinental Yokohama Grand is one of IHG’s classic heritage properties, having recently celebrated its 35th anniversary. The hotel building is a famous Yokohama landmark, designed in the shape of a billowing yacht sail set along the bay.

While not directly attached to Yokohama Station, it is easily accessible—a taxi ride costs around 2,000 yen. It is also just 500 meters (about a 10-minute walk) from Minatomirai Subway Station. You can walk over via the bridge from the Queen’s Square complex, an area packed with restaurants, supermarkets, and shops.

The location is exceptionally close to top attractions: the Yokohama Landmark Tower observation deck, the Yokohama Cosmo World Ferris wheel, and the Yokohama World Porters mall, which offers plenty of dining and scenic viewpoints. It truly boasts a prime location in Yokohama.

To travel into Tokyo, taking the train from Minatomirai Station to Shinjuku takes about 50 minutes.

During my stay, there was a local fireworks festival, so all ocean-view rooms were fully booked. The event drew massive crowds and caused road closures. Consequently, I stayed in the base room category: the 1 Queen Cosy (27 sq.m.).

The room size is comfortable and comes equipped with a sofa, work desk, iron, pajamas, and a safe. Coffee and tea (Lipton) are provided. The bathroom follows standard Japanese design, featuring full InterContinental-standard Byredo amenities along with complete toiletries, including toothbrushes and a razor with shaving cream.

The Club InterContinental lounge is located on the 2nd floor and offers beautiful ocean views. I particularly enjoyed it because they serve M&Ms and light snacks all day, along with self-service beverages.

Guests with Lounge Membership can enjoy breakfast in the lounge, which features a simple menu. The Afternoon Tea is delicious, served as a set that includes steamed buns and dim sum—famous specialties of Yokohama. The Evening Cocktail is also served as an individual set and is very tasty.

For anyone looking for an IHG property in the Kanto area, the InterContinental Yokohama Grand is a complete, highly recommended choice. Point redemptions offer exceptional value, and cash rates are very reasonable—especially on weekdays or weekends when Tokyo hotel prices spike. With its iconic location and excellent service, it’s a hotel you shouldn’t miss.

This is the base room category, the 1 Queen Cosy (27 sq.m.).

It’s a nicely sized room facing the front of the building, offering a full city view.

It features a comfortable King Size bed, a cozy corner sofa, and a work desk.

There is a minibar corner stocked with tea and coffee (Lipton tea). The fridge and minibar are stocked with beverages, though these come at an additional charge.

Inside the wardrobe, you’ll find an iron, pajamas, and a safe. Pajamas are provided, which is one of the things I really love about Japanese hotels.

The bathroom follows standard Japanese layouts, but the amenities are by Byredo, adhering to InterContinental standards. The toiletries are fully stocked, including toothbrushes, a razor, facial cleanser, and body lotion.

I really enjoyed this lounge—they serve M&Ms and light snacks all day, which are delicious, along with self-service beverages throughout the day.

Guests with Lounge Membership get to enjoy breakfast in the lounge. It offers a simple menu, but the smoked salmon and baked goods are absolutely delicious.

The Afternoon Tea is very tasty, served as a one-set portion featuring steamed buns and dim sum—famous specialties of Yokohama that are truly fantastic.

The Evening Cocktail is also served as one set per person and is quite good. In addition, the buffet line features a selection of cheeses and fresh fruits.

• The hotel is in a prime location right in the heart of the city, close to various amenities, with plenty of restaurants and attractions around—making it extremely convenient.
• It’s just 45 minutes from Haneda Airport, with a direct airport bus available, making trips to and from the airport hassle-free.
• I really liked the Club InterContinental here; it has a relaxed vibe. I loved having M&M available all day and the self-service beverages were a great touch. The Afternoon Tea at the lounge was also delicious.
• The service lives up to the high standards of the IHG brand.
• The prices here are fantastic compared to hotels in Tokyo. If you’re staying for several nights to explore the Kanto region, this property is an absolute must-recommend.

While the location isn’t directly adjacent to Yokohama Station, getting here is very convenient—a taxi ride costs around 2,000 yen. It’s only 500 meters from Minatomirai Subway Station, which is about a 10-minute walk.

You can walk directly over from Queen’s Tower by crossing the bridge, an area packed with tons of restaurants, supermarkets, and shops.

The hotel’s location is super close to many major attractions. Going up to the Yokohama Landmark Tower observation deck or riding the giant Ferris wheel at Yokohama Cosmo World is extremely convenient, as is visiting the Yokohama World Porters shopping mall, which offers plenty of dining options and great scenic viewpoints.

If you want to head into Tokyo, taking the train from Minatomirai Station to Shinjuku takes about 50 minutes.

Traveling to the InterContinental Yokohama Grand from Haneda Airport is extremely convenient, as there is a direct airport bus that drops you off right in front of the hotel. It runs both to and from the airport for only 1,000 yen per person, taking about 45 minutes.

Additionally, there is an à la carte menu featuring egg options and a Japanese set meal. I ordered the Japanese set, which includes salted grilled salmon, an onsen egg, simmered chicken with bamboo shoots, and clam miso soup.
